On Wednesday, May 11th, we drove from our home in Warren PA to Leeper PA, a distance of approximately 47 miles. Our destination was the Rail 66 Country Trail trailhead.

We parked off Route 66 in the Car Mate parking lot next to the trail.

From the Leeper trailhead we rode our bicycles, south, to Lucinda. The photographs that follow were taken along the trail.

If DB’s Smokin’ Bar-B-Q had been open, we would have eaten lunch there. We have eaten there before, and the food is excellent.

Rail 66 Country Trail – Leeper to Lucinda Former Lucinda Railway Station
We turned around about 1.25 miles south of the Lucinda Railway Station. Bob rode alone back to Leeper.
I stayed at the Lucinda Railway Station and waited Bob’s return by car.
This is a video that Bob took with our GoPro7 camera during our bicycle ride.
Total bicycle miles ridden: 8.37 miles.
This was my first time on the Rail 66 Country Trail, whereas Bob rode his bicycle on the northern part of the trail in September 2021. The trail is very well maintained. We plan to return one day soon and ride our bicycles from Lucinda to Marianne and back. We hope to see inside the Lucinda Rail Station at that time as well. On another day we plan to ride the northern part of the trail together.
My name is Linda. I am happily married to Bob, whom I married in September 1998. We have a daughter (my stepdaughter), who blessed Bob and me with twin granddaughters in May 2012.
My interests include spending time with my family and friends, riding the motorcycle with my husband, bowling, bicycling, walking, attending festivals, photography and travel.
I love taking photographs. I am a hobbyist photographer. My camera of choice is a mirrorless interchangeable lens Olympus camera.
I love to travel as well. I lived in Germany for almost 3 years, while in the Army, and visited many European countries. I have toured Europe two additional times since returning stateside. I lived in Australia for 3 months. I vacationed in the Bahamas (Nassau) one time. I would like to see more of the U.S., as well as return to Europe. I wouldn’t mind seeing the world!
FAVORITE MOVIES:
I like all types of movies — comedy, romance, action, thriller and horror.
FAVORITE MUSIC:
My favorite type of music would have to be country, judging by the fact that my CD collection contains mostly country artists such as Alabama, Clint Black, Garth Brooks, George Strait and more. I like music by Green Day, 3 Doors Down, and Matchbox 20 too.
FAVORITE BOOKS:
I tend to read romance novels, although I enjoy a good horror every now and then. My favorite romance writers include Belva Plain, Nora Roberts, Nicholas Sparks, Danielle Steel, Robert James Waller, and Phyliss A. Whitney. My favorite horror writers are Stephen King and John Saul.

Wonderful ride! Dan and I love riding our e-bikes, and we are always on the lookout for trails to ride. The Go-Pro is a nice touch. Our library has them available for checkout. Maybe I will try it one day. I love the huge evergreen trees at the end of the video. Your post makes me want to ride bikes!
